Other driver reportedly insured with Admiral? Independent accident guidance
Start by choosing the route that fits your position: Admiral's official motor claims page for its own process, or separate injury preparation from Smart Family Ltd.
Independent service. Smart Family Ltd operates this independent claims-referral service. It is not Admiral or Admiral Law, and neither company is affiliated with or endorses this service. Smart Family Ltd cannot report, track or manage an insurer claim.
Looking for Admiral's own claims route?
Admiral's official motor claims page separates customers using their own Admiral policy from people whose vehicle is not insured with Admiral but who were involved in an accident with someone Admiral insures. Choose the section that describes you rather than assuming MyAccount applies.
Visit Admiral's official motor claims page (external)Independent injury preparation
Read on to separate the people and organisations already involved, check contact details safely, and prepare factual questions for a legal provider you choose independently.
Go to independent injury preparationGeneral information, not advice about your own situation. Check the official sources and speak to a qualified provider when you need advice.
First identify which relationship is yours
Your own insurer deals with you under your policy. The other driver's reported insurer is a different relationship. A legal provider you have already instructed is separate again. Write down which organisation contacted you, what role it said it had and any reference it gave, without treating those roles as interchangeable.
If Admiral is your own insurer, use your policy documents and its official customer route. If your vehicle is not insured with Admiral and you were involved with someone Admiral insures, its official motor claims page has a separate non-customer section. This independent site does not sit inside either route.
Check who is contacting you before sharing references
Use the organisation's official website or your own policy documents to verify contact details before sharing a policy, claim or incident reference. Admiral's own guide warns that searches for claims numbers can lead to unaffiliated claims firms; the practical response is to return to the official site, not to rely on an unexpected caller or search result.
Admiral and Admiral Law are not the same organisation for the purpose of this page. Neither is presented as a partner of Smart Family Ltd.
Record the source of the insurer name
An insurer name or reference is useful context, but it does not by itself prove that cover applies, decide liability or show that an injury enquiry will be accepted.
- What the other driver said at the scene or later in writing.
- Any policy, claim or incident reference, kept with the message or document it came from.
- The registration numbers, date, time and location of the accident.
- Which organisation sent each letter, email or text and when it arrived.
Keep injury and repair correspondence separate
Keep medical or injury correspondence in one dated group and vehicle inspection, repair or insurer correspondence in another. If a legal provider is already acting, note its name and the part of the matter it says it handles rather than assuming it covers everything.
The existing guides explain general preparation and the difference between vehicle-damage and injury routes. This page does not advise you whether to accept an offer, change representative or take any particular step in a claim.
Questions for a legal provider you choose
Smart Family Ltd’s role is identifying and referring claims or potential claims. Before agreeing to a referral, you should know the named recipient and reason for sharing. A provider explains its own role and terms. This page does not present a provider panel.
- What part of the matter would you handle, and what would remain with an insurer or another provider?
- Who would communicate with me, and how can I verify that person's identity?
- What information would you need before deciding whether you can help?
- What terms would apply if I chose to instruct you?
